A skin-textured curtains that hanging in the narrow hallway space invites its viewers to walk through itself and get into another space. The viewers will be provided with an opportunity to have an intimate contact with the artwork, so that they can touch and be wrapped by the soft and skin-like material. The front side is stamped with Chinese characters that either depreciate the women’ roles in the society or describe the appearance of them. These characters are all composed by “女”, which means “woman” in Chinese, and “女” is a pictographic character that indicates the body of a woman. Simone de Beauvoir said, “One of men’s dream is to stamp on the women’ bodies, so that they will belong to the men”. From the past to nowadays, women are being stamped with different labels so that their actions and thoughts can be controlled and constrained by the society.
